The main aim you should have is to choose a sextoy that works on at least one level, fun, made you orgasm, made your partner orgasm, looks good, small enough to conseal if thats what it was bought for or big enough to fulfil and is does what it says it will on the side of the tin.
What you should avoid is leting your eyes or other people talk you into buying something that 'hurts like hell, no fun, and you can't find anything that is good about it' and so if you are buying for the first time, you should follow some simple guide lines.
Know your size -
You should think about the size of the sextoy you are going to purchase, and if this is the first time you are purchasing a vibrator or didilo and you are not sure then think small rather than big.
Choosing something that you will be inserting into your body or your partners that is too big probably will hurt and very often ruin your first experiance, and may be put you off using sextoys again.
Remember you can always buy a longer, wider or something that buzzes like road hammer once you know what does the trick for you or your partner.
